Recently, Big Ass Fans, a US commercial and home environment fan provider, launched a ceiling fan product equipped with UVC LEDs to emit ultraviolet light above the rotating blades to kill the environment. At present, BIFF has confirmed that the UVC LED is provided by Crystal IS.
Bi Aifeng ceiling fan is equipped with 265 nm Crystal IS chip. The product can be used indoors, such as homes, classrooms, offices and restaurants. In addition, the ceiling fan also includes a blue indicator LED. When the UVC LED chip is turned on, the blue indicator light will light up to remind the user that the air is being purified.
How's the effect? This American company's fan product imported CrystalIS's UVCLED
Because UVC band light is harmful to skin and eyes, Bi Aifeng stated that under the condition of correct operation, fans with UVC technology are safe for human eyes. The UVC LED points upwards to the ceiling instead of downwards to the people on the floor. In addition, the blue indicator light can also be used as a warning to warn the user that the UVC LED has been activated.
California Testing Laboratory has checked the effectiveness of the product against the coronavirus. In terms of the aerosol test, the coronavirus above the fan was reduced by 48% within 5 minutes, and after 10 minutes, the coronavirus above the fan was reduced by about 86%. By 20 minutes, the level had risen to 99.99% or higher.
If there is no airflow generated by the ceiling fan, the UVC LED will only disinfect the air around the lamp. Using the ceiling fan with the UVC fixture can expand the scope of disinfection.
The CEO of Crystal IS stated that a typical Klaran LED has a power of 3.6W at 500 mA and a kill time of 4 to 5 seconds requires a dose of 5 mJ/cm 2.
The rated life of the UVC LED of the ceiling fan is about 9000 hours, or it can be used continuously for about 375 days. Fans equipped with UVC LEDs start at US$1744, while those without UVC LEDs start at US$1244.
