At CES 2021, Seoul Semiconductor and Seoul Viosys showcased four major application products, covering smart displays, smart driving, smart home appliances and smart lighting.
During the exhibition, Seoul Semiconductor and Seoul Viosys launched the second-generation LED technology, which is suitable for various application scenarios such as display screens, smart driving, consumer electronics, and smart lighting.
Specific exhibits include Micro Clean LED displays and WICOP, the core technology for Mini/Micro LED displays, VCSEL laser diodes to ensure safe and autonomous driving, SunLike natural spectrum LED technology, and Violeds UV LED technology.
Among them, the Micro Clean LED display was developed by Seoul Viosys, which can be used in smart watches and was shown at CES 2020.
Previous reports showed that Seoul Viosys provided LED chips for this display, while Seoul Semiconductor assisted in the packaging and massive transfer to the PCB carrier. The product can achieve 4K resolution TV sizes, from 42 inches to 220 inches, 1 RGB LED per pixel, and can be mass-produced.
In addition, in the field of Micro LED, Seoul Viosys has also developed the key mass transfer technology of Micro LED, which can provide a transfer solution from MOCVD grown by RGB EPI to small micro(μ)-level RGB chips. Seoul Semiconductor has SMD technology and substrate connection technology, which can be used for large-screen displays.
