Micro LED technology developer Chichuang Technology submitted documents to the Taiwan Stock Exchange to apply for listing on the Growth Enterprise Market.
It is understood that Chichuang was established in 2014 with a capital of 500 million yuan (NTD) and is the only Micro LED designer in Taiwan. Raised $50 million to build its second Micro LED production line.
In terms of financing, Chichuang completed a fundraising of US$50 million in 2018 and 2020, which was successively invested by major manufacturers such as Epistar, Samsung, and AUO. Among them, Samsung holds more than 20% of the shares, and Epistar also holds nearly 20% of the shares. In 2021, LITE-ON will increase the capital of Chichuang by US$5 million, and the cumulative shareholding will increase to 3.94%.
In terms of products, Chitron Micro LED products have been fully deployed in various application fields. At this year CES 2022 exhibition, a variety of Chitron Micro LED products were displayed:
37-inch FHD seamless splicing display and 89-inch 5K ultra-wide curved display with PixeLED Matrix technology, with high contrast ratio, 116% wide color gamut, 2000nits brightness and 0.43mm pixel size to bring no particles within 1 meter distance Sensational visual experience.
Transparent 7.56-inch PixeLED Micro LED display, with 60% transmittance and 114ppi detail, can still see the background through the process of playing images, this product is mainly used in the front gear and side windows of future vehicles , skylights and the design of various built-in displays.
The 1.39-inch circular PixeLED Micro LED display has a Retina-level resolution of 338ppi and a brightness of more than 1000nits. It can maintain the display state for a long time without being disturbed by sunlight glare, and is mainly aimed at smart wearable applications.
The 7.56-inch display using quantum dot color conversion technology fills the gaps of the Micro LED chips with pure black material to present a high contrast ratio of full black and full color, so it can display a detailed depth of field picture, and the color gamut reaches 120% NTSC.
The full-color μ-Pixel LED display has a brightness of 50,000nits and can be applied to AR glasses.
In addition, at the Opto Taiwan 2021 Optoelectronics Exhibition, Chitron also exhibited a 1.58-inch PM Micro LED display and an 11.6-inch automotive Micro LED display.
In terms of cooperation, Chitron and AUO have developed products such as automotive-related products and Micro LED displays for mobile wearable devices. At the same time, it is also actively cooperating with Tianma Microelectronics to develop Micro LED displays.
In 2021, Tianma demonstrated the 11.6-inch rigid Micro LED display developed in cooperation with Chitron, with a resolution of 2470x960 and a pixel density of 228PPI, using LTPS TFT drive technology.
It is reported that Chichuang has not yet entered the profit stage, but Chichuang has a large shareholder background and a strong lineup. In addition, Chichuang has achieved a series of Micro LED RD achievements and breakthroughs in mass transfer technology with high thresholds, and has won Substantial orders, if successfully listed in 2022, Chichuang will be a rare pure Micro LED concept stock in the world.
